If your project cannot be explained via an email, then we offer a free consultation to discuss your requirements in more detail and get an understanding of your end goal. The information that we receive from the initial consultation can then be used to generate a quotation which we would share with you before undertaking any work.
This is also an ideal time for you to ask us any questions that you have about the process and discuss any Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), if required. We can also arrange a video call for you to share with us any existing CAD or documentation that you feel would be beneficial to help us understand your design and vision.
If at this stage, your project is still an idea that is locked inside your head, we would then look to progress onto ‘Conceptual Modelling’ which is a great way to visualise your design initially and highlight any initial problems that may cause issues in the future. The conceptual model would then evolve over a period of time until the design has been finalised and is ready to move onto the next stage of either photo-realistic rendering or generating the necessary drawings that are needed to materialise your design.
Alternatively, you may have existing 2D Drawings of your designs and products which you are looking to convert into a 3D CAD file for further development, or to send the files to your customers for them to use on their designs. This is a great way to stand out from your competitors and attract customers as your company name and part number can be engraved onto the 3D file and saves your customers time as they can simply download the file, instead of creating it themselves.
Once the 3D CAD file has been finalised and you are confident with the final design, an excellent tool which can be very useful is to create a ‘Photo-Realistic Render’. This tool uses a 3D CAD file and allows complete customisation of your product from materials, colours and even background images to visualise your final design which you can then share with potential customers, without the lead time of manufacturing and studio costs.
We can create still images and moving animations of your design which can then be used for marketing and customer feedback, giving you the freedom to make any necessary changes to the design, before starting production.
When the 3D Model is finalised and you have confirmed the desired materials and finish of your product, we would then look to capture all the vital information that is needed to materialise your design in the form of a manufacturing drawing. These drawings hold all the data that your supplier will need to accurately produce your parts and ensure it functions as you intended.
Once the drawings are completed, this gives you the ability to contact several suppliers, ensuring you receive the right price before manufacturing, but with the reassurance that your suppliers are quoting without ambiguity. The manufacturing drawings can be used for individual prototypes, through to large volume production and everything in between. The drawings will become your property and belong to you, giving you the flexibility and ownership to share them as you deem necessary.
3D Printing uses state of the art technology to create a physical part that can be used for initial ‘Proof of Concept’ prototypes, or to be incorporated into production products, depending on the application. This is a reliable and cost-effective method that enables you to test your design for a fraction of the cost when compared to traditional manufacturing methods, making any design changes less stressful and time constraining.
We will provide you with the universal file types that are needed for 3D Printing, giving you the freedom to source the part from a supplier of your choice, or to print directly from your own personal printer. 3D Printing is also a common tool that is used by hobbyists looking to solve day to day inconveniences, or even to create novelty and personalised items for marketing purposes, gifts and special occasions.
We also offer all of the stages mentioned above as indivudal services, therefore if you only require one of the stages, get in touch with us to discuss you requirements.
